THE MERCHANT OF VENICE - THEATRE FOR A NEW AUDIENCE 2022

Set for The Merchant of Venice, designed by Riccardo Hernandez at Theatre for a New Audience. Charged by myself (Delia Revard), painted by Daedalus scenic team and additional overhire scenics: Sam Welsing, Chelsea Clark, Maddie Goddard, Owen Nuss.

Nicole McManis and Owen Nuss carrying out some washes - we based all the flats with a joint compound slurry which we then smoothed out for a smooth concrete finish with very subtle, realistic texture. Then we applied these concrete stains as washes, they work fabulously for staining the plaster really subtly and organically. The aim was "film-quality" faux concrete.

Matching concrete treatment for the deck, but walkable. So, jaxsan for texture instead of JC, and various layered glazes for color. Both worked great!
