Boheme Cityscape toppers

CNC'd foam then manually carved more by scenic crew.

Boheme Cityscapes (Pre-mylar)

The toppers then went onto their matching "buildings". Once all the carving was finished, we began the mylar process. This included making templates of all the plane surfaces of the toppers, then cutting those shapes out of first bristol paper and then silver mylar. The stiff bristol layer was to help cover any bubbling or "cratering" we experienced when adhering the mylar/bristol to the foam using Super 77. The wooden parts were covered only using silver mylar and Super 77.

Start of paint treatment

Treatment was a mixture of applications, using foam brushes for most of the roof/foam painting, and pneumatic spray guns for the larger expanses of the cityscapes (the bottom parts). In addition, sharpies were used for detail linework of window panes, etc.

In between layers, we also painted on Citristrip to selectively remove areas of paint where we wanted the silver mylar to shine through and add more texture and layers to the overall look. I then went in with a smaller pneumatic to do more detailed focused spray application.
